Lifelong Learning Department of the Aspira University College, in cooperation with the Contemporary Education Center in Split, organizes a training program for Pastry Chefs.

The aim of the program is to enable the participants to work independently in the preparation of different kinds of desserts. Students will learn how to use dessert making equipment and plan jobs and manage staff at the pastry kitchen. In addition, they will learn the basics of entrepreneurship and business communication, maintaining hygiene and applying the rules of workplace safety.
The lecturer will be Mrs. Julija Beroš, a prominent pastry chef with an extensive experience in the pastry business and the blog writer of Torta, pinjur, pjat.
Duration of the program is 120 hours.
The program is approved by the Ministry of Science and Education and and entered into an e-workbook.

The basic task of a pastry chef is to prepare all kinds of sweets, cakes, creams, ice-cream, fruit salads and other desserts.
Among other things, pastry chefs order ingredients, check their quality, store them and keep them from spoilage. Each pastry chef must, besides the pastry skills, be resourceful, neat, responsive, and organized to participate in all parts of the dessert preparation process.
Through the theoretical and practical part, the knowledge and skills of preparing various kinds of desserts are gained: cakes, pies, ice-creams, creams, decorating sweets, proper use of kitchen utensils and appliances, maintenance of kitchen hygiene, distinguishing and proper storage of ingredients, as well as occupational safety.
Practical classes are performed in our modernly-equipped kitchen under the mentorship of a top pastry chef, Ljubica Roždijevac, who is the chef of the Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb.

- a medical certificate of fitness for employment
- a sanitary book
